I have trouble taking it seriously, even when the heavier moments come around. I like the game, but there's a sense of carefree-if not detached-humor and simplicity to the characters that conflict with a system framed around player choice. I always felt Undertale struggled with that very issue. To frame a game for others to play based on moral decision making (or not), it feels like a designer must manipulate a player's sense of sentimentality, even if it seeks to critique that very notion.
